I would like to thank all of the people and businesses that supported me in this years Penguin Plunge.  This year my efforts were part of Team Campbell High School in their support of Special Olympics.  Kiwanis of Hudson was a huge backer as well as Hudson Endodontics,  Waterways Water Specialists, Professors Pizza and all of the wonderful people at JD Chasers, soon to be The Bar.  My thanks would not be complete without saying thank you to Anne Coe for donating to this special event.  You have all made the Penguin Plunge the success that it is and helped me to be able to donate over $1,000 to this years event, thank you.

Campbell Key Club Rocks Coffee House

It was cold, it was raining but the cafeteria was warm as the Campbell High School Key Club hosted its 7th annual Coffee House.  Guests were greeted with a Halloween theme and lots of food.  Carolyn Spaulding, Key Club president, directed the event where students showcased their talents in front of friends and family.

The night opened with Dan Ledoux, Patrick Rochford and Nick Napolit in a performance of 7 Nation Army that will be remembered by all.  Following this was a comedy routine where Ricky Parenti brought a new level to puns and comedy as his brother Joey matched each laugh with a rimshot.  Announcing that a member of the audience was not full of Schmidt brought the audience to a sitting ovation.  Nick Napoli was his own page turner as he brought new life to acoustic versions of Clapton and Pink Floyd.  Kelly Shattuck and her lilting vocals filled the room with a beautiful presence as she made two appearances during the night.  Ian Brennan was On Top Of The World in this Imagine Dragons song as his exuberance got the crowd going as they clapped along with the song, this was the first of his two appearances.  Aaron Rochford delved deep into rock and rolls past as his drummed his way into the 60’s performing the Cream masterpiece, Whiteroom.  Patrick Rochford was next as he sang and strummed his acoustic guitar to the tunes of Bright Eyes and the Tallest Man On Earth.  Jess Manning and Madison Taylor then danced their way into our hearts.  In an unscheduled and surprise performance Curtis Gagnon was masterful on guitar as he sang and bent the strings to Eric Clapton’s Layla.  Jacob Butler then appeared with a completely mesmerizing cover of Imagine Dragons song, Radioactive.  Beyonce could not have done it better as Brianna Canada performed her song Love Drought and Daddy’s Daughter by Neil Morse.  Ending the night in a turbulent tongue track Allison Dyac belted out Eminem’s song Rap God with amazing perfection.

Even though the weather was formidable the Campbell Key club raised a record amount for Alzheimer’s research.  This annual performance has become the signature  event for this club and we cannot wait to see what they bring next year.  Thank you for all of your hard work and thanks to all of the great performers.
